John O'Neil, CEO
John has a track record of converting ideas into successful organizations, building passionate and empowered teams that deliver lasting impact.
- John helped design, implement and launch Missio Invest, an innovative impact investing firm supporting social enterprises operated by the Catholic Church in Sub-Saharan Africa. He developed diligence processes, legal documents, financial models, blended capital structures, technical assistance, impact metrics and investor support. He recruited an exceptional team of community-based experts who lead from the front lines.
- At the W.O’Neil Foundation, he has seen the urgent needs of bottom-of-the-pyramid communities for patient investment to give them control of their own development. He is leading the Foundation’s shift to use 100% of its assets for mission and working with the next generation of foundation leaders to carry this forward.
- At FXCM, he managed the company's transition from a successful private firm to $1bn NYSE listed public company, recruiting a financial team, lawyers, and underwriters and managing its successful IPO. He then executed an M&A strategy responsible for 20% of company revenues.
- As software entrepreneur, he led Micro-Frame Technologies from PC startup through SaaS innovator, mentoring a talented team who would go on to great success themselves.
